Gallo-Roman birthplace of viticulture in Touraine, the Touraine-Azay-le-Rideau AOC welcomes you with its talented winemakers. This is one of the smaller appellations, but one with a rich heritage. The vineyard offers spacious and elegant wines.

Meet at Balzac's country to discover the rich heritage of his native region. Between picturesque route, troglodyte caves, Renaissance castles and cellar visits, discover the wines that have fed the body and mind of the writer.
  1. Visit Louis-Jean Sylvos’ Château de la Roche and the Confrérie "Les Bannerets du Vieux Chenin et du Grolleau de Ridel" .

  2. The next stop is the Domaine Nicolas Paget winery to taste a further selection of Touraine Azay-le-Rideau rosés and whites.

  3. Take a break at the heart of the vineyards to admire the views over the Loire and Indre valleys; taste the famous smoked herring fouées (pocket-bread) paired
  4. Learn about the surrounding landscape from a Mission Val de Loire expert.

  5. A stop at Domaine Badiller for an introduction to winemaking in Touraine-Azay-le-Rideau, followed by tasting. (to be confirmed)

  6. Tasting of wines with "poires tapées" at Thierry Besard. (to be confirmed)
The winemakers of the appellation, in partnership with Gyroway offer you an original and innovative hike in gyropod!
On program: an adapted course with two stops for maximum 15 people, departure at 9:30 am!

Back in the village VVR, enjoy the party atmosphere in the company of winemakers and others participants. You can buy the wines you tasted and ome refreshments. Children can have fun with the play area.

Try the VVT trail – don’t forget to bring your bike!
Note: The trail is partly off-road and features some steep slopes. Difficulty level 4/5.
