Made from the best Cabernet Franc grapes, this deliciously fruity wine is one of the great red wines of the Loire. Pure, crisp and easy-going, saumur-champigny is a true reflection of this highly distinctive terroir.

From the village of Dampierre-sur-Loire, Saumur's associated village, you go for a hilly hike between Loire and vineyards. This is an opportunity to discover the troglodyte heritage and the vineyard, located on the limestone slopes overlooking the south bank of the Loire.

Iitinerary :

1.
You begin your walk in the heart of the village of Dampierre-sur-Loire. You go up to the first hills, to taste your first glass of Saumur-champigny and to discover troglodyte houses.

2.
Then, you take the path of Hureau to reach the vineyards. Crossing the vineyard, you head to a mushroom farm where you take your second break with a wine tasting of the appellation with pickled mushrooms.

3.
You climb a little more on the slopes, towards the lime kilns, to admire a superb view of the vineyards and the villages of Souzay and Parnay. After a walk in the forest, you arrive at your third stop in the middle of the vineyards. A tasting awaits you, with homemade bites.

4.       You take bucolic paths to go down on the village in the direction of the church Saint-Pierre of the 15th century. Then you go back in the vineyards by a typical path to enjoy a panoramic view of the Loire and its villages and to make a final stop with a food and wine pairing. Finally, you head to the Loire and take the route of the Loire by bike until you return to the village VVR.

At the rhythm of a band, you can eat on the village VVR through a market of food producers and a foodtruck to treat you to pancakes salty or sweet. The wines tasted during the hike will be available for sale and children will enjoy the wooden games.

Picnics are allowed

Family walk: A 4 km course animated by the Museum of Vine and Wine, suitable for children and which includes the same stops as the classic course Accessibility for strollers but pay attention to the sloping roads. Departure at 2:30 pm. Subscribe on 2:30-3:00 pm time slot.

On the VVR village, after an hour of workshop, the wines of the Loire Valley will have no secrets for you! Accessibility to the workshop is strictly reserved for participants of Vines Randos Wine.
